Urinary incontinence

Medicine and Health

Urinary incontinence encompasses symptoms such as urinary urgency, frequency, waking up to pass urine at night, urine loss with sex, coughing, sneezing, laughing or, walking.

It can affect your social life and wellbeing.  It may be associated with prolapse but not always. Your Eve Health gynaecologist will take a detailed history of your symptoms as well as your medical, obstetric, social, medication and surgical history. Examination can often help with the diagnosis and there are some specialised tests that may be required. Treatment can include lifestyle changes such as weight loss, fluid restriction and pelvic floor exercises. Some medications can help and surgery is sometimes required. Our ved hospital’s gynaecologist will take your concerns seriously and aim to understand the effects on your lifestyle and relationships, and seek to find the best possible solution for your situation.
