Pelvic In ammatory Disease (PID)

This is a bacterial infection that spreads to the uterus, fallopian tubes, and other reproductive organs. Common symptoms include the following:

  • Lower abdominalpain 
  •  Fever
  •  Irregular menstrual cycles
  •  Vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor 
  •  Pain during intercourse

PID is usually treated with antibiotics. In some cases, surgery may be recommended to remove any damaged tissue or scarring.
